Schmit (1860 - 1939) Maria Klein (1860 - 1936) Francis2 Schmit (Johann1) was born 14 March 1860 at Town of Belgium, Ozaukee County, Wisconsin, the son of Johann and Mary (Siebenaler or Siebener) Schmit. See Ozaukee County birth records, v 2, no. 215. He died 7 January 1939, age almost 79, of nephritis at Port Washington, Ozaukee County, Wisconsin. The funeral was held 11 January 1939 at St. Mary's Roman Catholic church, 117 East Van Buren Street, Port Washington, and he is buried in St. Mary's cemetery there. Reverend William Frantz presided. Witnesses were Peter Schmit, John Klein, Anna Schmit and Margareth Klein. See the marriage records of the church. Ozaukee County birth records, v 2, no. 769, registered 28 August 1872, say she was born 9 April 1860. She was baptized 4 March 1860 at Holy Cross Roman Catholic church at Town of Belgium. Her sponsor was Maria Thomas. Both her birthdate and baptism are recorded in the baptism records of the church. She died 3 August 1936, age 76, of myocarditis at Town of Port Washington, Ozaukee County, Wisconsin.
