He was baptized a Roman Catholic 11 July 1954 at St. Aidan's church, 158 Pleasant Street, Brookline, Norfolk County, Massachusetts. Reverend T. J. Heagney presided. Bonnie was born 1 October, 1953 in Alexandria, Virginia, daughter of Leslie Bernard Chisholm, Jr., and Hilda Middleton Chilshom, Jr.

The Diederichs reside in Hopewell, Virginia.
