Dorothy Klein

Former Saukville Village President Dorothy Burhop Klein (with
scissors) cut the ribbon Saturday during the dedication ceremony for Klein Way, a road in
Dekora Woods Business Park. Also participating in the ceremony were (front row,
from left) Trustee Donna D'Angelo, former Village President Jeffery Knight, Village
President Sandra Garbarek and former Village President Paul Miller. Klein, who was
the village's top elected official from 1969 to 1975, was hailed as a prime mover behind
the creation of Saukville's now-booming industrial park. "Without me, (the
industrial park) would have never happened," Klein said Wednesday. "I'm
just glad that I'm still around to see how that unfolded." Klein admitted she
was shocked when the village's Community Development Authority decided to namae a road
after her. "I've since gotten used to the idea," she said.
"It's kind of interesting to see your name up there (on the street sign)."
